“In all of living, have much fun and laughter. LIFE is to be ENJOYED, not just endured.”
Gordon B. Hinckley
While watching another one of my favorite shows, Rupaul’s Drag Race, one of the contestants, born with a debilitating illness, confessed that he’d spent most of his life, nursing his illness and less time living and had recently made the commitment to ENJOY LIFE. He decided to create a life based on his wants and needs, free from the thoughts and judgments of others. With a made-up mind, he decided to ENJOY his LIFE to the fullest. After listening to his remarks, I questioned if I was ENJOYING my LIFE to the fullest and what it actually mean? What does it mean to you? Are you living your LIFE to the fullest? Do you ENJOY LIFE? I’m finally learning how to!!! So for this week’s blog, let’s talk SHIP about the need for us to ENJOY LIFE…to the fullest!!!
We’ve all heard the phrase, ENJOY LIFE to the fullest but what does it actually mean? I’m sure if I asked a thousand people, I’d receive a thousand different responses. But, according to Merriam Webster’s dictionary, “living life to the fullest” means to “ENJOY ones’ LIFE fully.” It’s easier said than done. Because although people are dissatisfied with the lack of meaning or purpose they get from their daily lives, they still believe it’s impossible to ENJOY LIFE to the fullest. With all that’s going on in the world and the busyness of our lives, is it really possible to ENJOY LIFE to the fullest? Yes, I believe it is. However, it requires some action on our part!!!
If we want to ENJOY LIFE to the fullest, it requires that we have a relationSHIP with ourselves. It requires that we have a made-up mind and a willingness to create the life we desire. It requires that we live purposefully. It requires that we make the decision to release all of our concerns and our self-doubts. It requires that we release old ways of thinking so that we can discover new dimensions of ourselves. It requires listening to our gut, living in the present, being grateful, and appreciating the small things. ENJOYING LIFE to the fullest requires that we satisfy our thirst to live that life we feel in our souls. It requires that we live as our authentic selves. It requires that we take action.
After hearing this contestant make the decision to create a better life for himself, I actually discovered that living your life to the fullest simply means “making full use of what life offers us.” So if your life feels dull, unsatisfying, and uninspiring, take the action to change it. Start creating a more full, fulfilling, and meaningful life for yourself. Get involved with events and activities that serve others and that make you happy. And always remember that it is the efforts we make that enable us to live and ENJOY our LIFE to the fullest. So make the effort and take the actions to ENJOY your LIFE to the fullest!!!!

Angie, I am learning to enjoy my life. I am starting to live intentionally. I appreciate you an thanks so much for your support.
You definitely hit the nail on the head in your 3rd paragraph, Val. All of what’s mentioned are the ingredients in living a full and happy life.
“Living life to the fullest”, “Enjoying life to the fullest”, “Live each day to the fullest” all of these quotes coined by those with great wisdom, for sure.
Your question, “Are you enjoying your life to the fullest?” I have to say, Yes, I AM! 😊! I do my best to be intentional about those things that are important to me, what makes me smile and brings me joy! I’ve found that there are SO many things we can be depressed, unhappy, or overwhelmed about and yet we cannot change because it may not be in our control. That said, I choose to focus on the things I have control over, and that is myself. I have full control on how I live my life and I am living it and loving it to the fullest!
